Garden Project & Communications Coordinator (part-time)

SoBro Conservancy is looking for someone who will coordinate the important work of our volunteers, communicate effectively with them and the rest of our team, and enhance our educational impact through communication in various media.

We are looking for a person who will be excited to support our team as we develop thriving biodiverse, pollinator-friendly green spaces, and educate about the critical importance of such habitats for the web of life on which human well-being depends.

To Apply: Send a cover letter and resume to info@sobroconservancy.org with the subject line: Garden Project & Communications Coordinator: Your First & Last Name. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

This is a part-time independent contractor role (5-10 hours per week at $25 per hour) based in Saratoga Springs.  It is ideal for a self-motivated person who has strong communication and teamwork skills, is comfortable with a range of computer platforms, and is passionate about environmental and sustainability issues.

This position will report to the Board President and will work closely with our Garden Management Committee.

Key responsibilities will include: organization of the volunteer work schedule at the SoBro Triangle garden;   design and publish informative educational material via social media, our website, and print media;   documentation of garden progress and issues, based on gardener input throughout the season.

Benefits of this position include learning with SoBro’s great team about the beauty and value of native plants and ecological gardening and making a meaningful positive difference in two areas, environmental restoration and urban beautification.  This role will involve occasional outdoor work in varied weather. Our SoBro Triangle ecological garden on South Broadway is entering only its third season.  A priority goal is to leverage the educational potential of our prominent location to expand the footprint of native plants and biodiverse habitats in our region.
